What are GHOSTS?

All civilisations have believed in ghosts - there
is even a Buddhist text describing how the Buddha trained himself to overcome fear by sitting in a haunted graveyard. The
usual assumption has been that they are spirits of the dead. In modern times it has become increasingly clear that at least
one type of ghost, the poltergeist, emanates from the unconscious minds of living human beings. In recent years,
there has also been an increasing tendency to accept a theory put forward by Sir Oliver Lodge, that some ghosts
may be a kind of 'recording' in rooms in which some tragedy has taken place.
